Welcome to the community of Cape Breton. Residing on the south shore of the Metedeconk river, the area was incorporated in 1943. We boast a dock with slips for more than 30 boats, one of the nicest beaches on the river, and a clubhouse that seats as many as ninety people for dinner.

The community started as a summer destination and remained that way well into the seventies when more owners started to upgrade their cottages into year round homes. Although there are still summer residents, the majority of the residents live here year round.

When you decide to become a member, you become a shareholder in the corporation. Your yearly fees not only give you access to the beach, dock, and clubhouse, but they help to maintain the communities property. You also become a part of a social community that has lasted more than 75 years.

Since it started as a summer community, the directors of the company set up activities that remain to this day. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, there are events that unite the community. Although fewer members are around after the summer, we still run events that involve residents meeting monthly with activities that include Halloween and St. Patrick’s Day.

If you are an owner, renter, boat owner, or are just interested in becoming part of Cape Breton go to the membership or dock page for more information.
