Welcome to the Cape Breton Community

Nestled along the south shore of the Metedeconk River, the Cape Breton community has been a special place for residents and families since its incorporation in 1943. Our waterfront community features a marina with slips for more than 30 boats, one of the most beautiful beaches along the river, and a clubhouse capable of hosting gatherings of up to ninety people.

​

Cape Breton began as a seasonal summer retreat. Through the 1970s and beyond, many cottages were expanded and transformed into year-round homes. Today, while we still enjoy the presence of summer residents, the majority of our members call Cape Breton home throughout the year.

​

When you join Cape Breton, you become more than a member, you become a shareholder in Cape Breton Holding Company. As a shareholder, you share in both the benefits of the community’s common property and traditions. Annual membership dues provide access to our beach, dock, and clubhouse while supporting the maintenance, safety, and long-term stewardship of these shared amenities in accordance with the company’s governing documents and community rules.

Community gatherings have always been an important part of life here.  Throughout the year, residents enjoy a variety of events that bring neighbors together. Even during the quieter months, our community remains active with social gatherings and celebrations throughout the year, including traditions such as Halloween and St. Patrick’s Day events. All events and use of community facilities are conducted in accordance with established policies designed to ensure the safety, enjoyment, and respectful use of our shared spaces for all members and guests.
